BRECO Scholarships
Calling All Graduating Seniors!!
if you’re a local high school student graduating this year, and you’ve got what it takes, apply for a chance to win one of two $1,000 scholarships*! use it to cover books, tuition, supplies, or anything you need!
Who can apply for a scholarship?
To be eligible for a scholarship, you must meet the following criteria:
Be a current BRECO FCU member in good standing, or eligible to join the credit union at the time of application
High school graduating senior in spring 2025
Be scheduled to attend an accredited university, community college, or trade school for the fall semester 2025
GPA of 2.5 or above
what is the deadline to apply?
Applications must be submitted through our online application process no later than 5:00 pm on Friday, March 13, 2026.
what do i need to apply?
You will need to create a 30 to 60 second video answering the question, “What is the greatest challenge facing the world, and how will your education help you make a difference?” Upload your video to YouTube and provide the video link when prompted on your application. Additionally, you will need a PDF of your official high school transcript. You will also need a computer with internet access to be able to submit the online application.
when will the winners be announced?
Scholarship winners will be notified by Monday, March 23, 2026.
how do i apply?
You must complete and submit an online application, which will include information regarding your scholastic achievements, extracurricular activities, and community service. You must also submit a 30 to 60 second video answering the required prompt by uploading it to YouTube and providing the video link within your application. Video submissions should follow YouTube’s community guidelines. Please allow enough time to complete the application once you have begun. We strongly encourage you to save your answers on a separate word document in case there is an error while moving through the online application.
Video Entry Rules
Create a short video that answers the question, “What is the greatest challenge facing the world, and how will your education help you to make a difference?” Upload your video to YouTube and provide the video link when prompted on your application.
Official Instructions:
Video must be 30 to 60 seconds in length
Clearly state your name and high school in the video
Video must be uploaded to YouTube and comply with YouTube’s community guidelines
Ensure the video is set to public so it can be viewed by the selection committee
Be as creative as possible
*Scholarship applicant must be a primary BRECO FCU member in good standing, or eligible to join the credit union, at the time of application and graduating from high school in spring 2026 with plans to attend an accredited university, community college, or trade school. Scholarships will be awarded in a single monetary transaction. Immediate family members of BRECO FCU employees are not eligible to win. Immediate family members are defined as children, grandchildren, and siblings. Scholarship winner(s) will be asked to have their picture and/or video taken with a BRECO FCU representative for publicity purposes. All pictures and/or videos may be used on BRECO FCU’s website, social media, or other Credit Union publications. Not a member of BRECO FCU? Don’t worry, open an account today!
